Local fall events and activities for 2012 in Clinton, including all of Hunterdon and Warren County present fun and entertainment for the whole family. Some are scary haunted attractions that may not be suitable for small children, but the grownups will love. Check the appropriate websites for dates, times, admissions. Here are some you might enjoy. The Haunted Mill in Clinton. Over 9 acres of haunted terrain. The historic Red Mill comes alive with eerie sights, sounds and an awesome Haunted House. Literally hundreds of ghouls and ghosts. For 2012, the theme is Murder at Milligan’s Mansion. Somewhere in that midst of the terror, I may be jumping out at you!!! Horse Sleigh Farm’s Fall Festival. 438 Route 57 West, Washington, NJ 07882 908-267-5313. They’ve got a huge 10-plus acre corn maze (see website for coupon), pumpkin picking, hayrides, pony rides, corn cannon, and pumpkin painting. Very popular haunted hayrides, maze and other evening attractions. Some are not suitable for under age 12 (oh, boy, it’s gotta be good). See www.horsesleighfarm.com
Last Fling Pumpkin Sling. Millbrook & Montana Rd, Harmony Twp 08865 908-283-0721. Teams come together in mid-October for the Pumpkin Sling event which features catapult and trebuchet slings. Pumpkin throws for the kids. Nice ride to enjoy the fall foliage, wineries, etc. See www.pumpkinsling.com
Peaceful Valley Orchards. 150 Pittstown Rd. Pittstown, NJ 908-730-7748. Harvest weekends in October. Apple and pumpkin picking. Hay bale maze, animal zoo, face painting and live music. See www.peacefulvalleyorchards.com
Schaefer’s Farm Frightfest. 1051 County Road 523, Flemington, NJ 908-782-2705. This is not to be missed if you want to have the yell scared out of you! Attractions include a 45 minute scary hayride through 200 acres of fright. Besides the hayride, there are scary walks into various trails of terror. Lots to do. Grochowicz Farms. Frightful Nights 2401 Route 31, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826. 908-537-4332. This is truly a haunted adventure. Three terrifying haunts in one location: Hayride Trail of Terror, Chaotic Corn Maze and the 35 minute Haunted Hollow Hayride. See www.grochowiczfarms.com
